As most of you must know by now, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has announced the list of nominees for this year’s Academy Awards. The list of nominations for Best Motion Picture of the Year brings nine entries, which are:
Amour, by Michael Haneke
Argo, by Ben Affleck
Beasts of the Southern Wild, by Benh Zeitlin
Django Unchained, by Quentin Tarantino
Les Misérables, by Tom Hooper
Life of Pi, by Ang Lee
Lincoln, by Steven Spielberg
Silver Linings Playbook, by David O. Russell
Zero Dark Thirty, by Kathryn Bigelow
As you might be aware, the rules allow for anything from five up to ten nominees in this category. To be nominated, a movie must be placed in the top 10 general count of the voting, and must also have been the top pick of at least 5% of voters. What I want to know from the readers is:
What movie would you select to fill the spot that the AMPAS voters left open?
Does this year’s more-than-surprising hit Skyfall deserve to make it? Was The Master unjustly forgotten? Would you like to see a comic book adaptation, such as The Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises? What about the sci-fi of Prometheus and Looper? And the animations, like Wreck-it Ralph and Frankenweenie? Any other movie you believe was snubbed? Head to the comments section bellow and speak your mind.
